It Looks Like It Was A Good Year For Bobby Valentino After All!!

In kicking off the New Year, I think it's time I gave someone some praise for their accomplishments in 07.
Somebody hit the crickets for Chingy’s new album bombing on the billboard charts last week. The St Louis MC pulled in a disappointing 31, 450 copies of his new project “Hate It Or Love It” putting his project at #84 on the Billboard charts. It’s clear that most people chose to hate it. But in doing a little research – the one thing that I found surprising is that so far Bobby Valentino’s, Special Occasion, has been the top seller out of Disturbing Tha Peace all last year.
The pint-sized crooner’s sophomore CD has been certified gold by the RIAA. And though his record sales pale in comparison to other Def Jam artists. He still reigned supreme as it relates to DTP. Ludacris still proves to be a viable top-tier selling artist. But, Shareefa, Playaz Circle, and now Ludacris have shown that they unfortunately aren’t money in the bank.
In the New Year lets see if their compilation album, Strength In Numbers, and the highly anticipated project from Steph Jones can blow everyone’s expectations away.[Blog edit Damn how did I forget about Serius Jones?/] But in the meantime, Bobby, you better walk with a little extra pimp in your step, because right now….you’re the man over there homie.
