Beckham out to impress Capello's spy

David Beckham's hopes of earning his 100th England cap could improve this weekend when Franco Baldini watches him play in a charity match for Los Angeles Galaxy.
Baldini, general manager for England boss Fabio Capello, is scheduled to monitor Beckham and report back on the form and fitness of the 32-year-old midfielder.
Beckham is expected to face FC Dallas in the pre-season friendly at Pizza Hut Park, with the proceeds of the match going to UNICEF, ahead of England's friendly against France in Paris on March 26, just before the MLS season starts.
The former Real Madrid star earned his 99th cap in the defeat to Croatia last year that ended England's hopes of playing at the European Championships this summer.
It also marked Steve McClaren's departure as England boss, with Capello appointed and Beckham left out of his first squad for the 2-1 victory over Switzerland at Wembley.
Blackburn winger David Bentley started against the Swiss in Beckham's favoured right-midfield role, then Shaun Wright-Phillips came on and scored the winner.
While out of the squad - and with Galaxy not in action - Beckham trained with Arsenal at London Colney to maintain his fitness levels. He then went on Galaxy's pre-season tour of China and South Korea.

David Beckham's good look

HERE'S the latest goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Children's Fund, David Beckham, with a child in Sierre Leone.
He was urging us not to turn our backs on starving children in developing countries.
This photograph of Beckham holding five-year-old Senyo says it all.
Beckham met Senyo at a feeding centre in Makeni last week. The child was so hungry he could barely walk. Perfect photo opportunity, but what a powerful message.
The soccer star succeeded in drawing attention to the plight of starving children to the rest of the world.

David Beckham 'Humbled' by Africa Visit

David Beckham's trip to West Africa made a profound impression on the soccer star.
"I've just returned from visiting Sierra Leone in Africa as part of my role as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador," Beckham posted in his blog Thursday. "Though I saw many problems and issues to tackle, I was heartened by the incredible and selfless work UNICEF and other agencies are ground on the ground to help."
He added: "I was also humbled by the people of Sierra Leone, who, despite the problems they face, keep smiling and are hopeful for the future. They made me feel extremely welcome in their country and I will never forget the experience."
Beckham, 32, the father of three sons, described the plight of children in the impoverished country.
"One in four children die in Sierra Leone before they reach the age of five and many of the diseases that children suffer can be prevented," he wrote. "I genuinely hope that by visiting the affected areas and spending time with some of the people there, it will draw the world's attention towards the problems children face not only in Sierra Leone but similar situations across the world."

David Beckham Follows the Spice Girls to Spain

While Victoria Beckham is doing her thing with the Spice Girls, her hubby David is enjoying the perks of being married to a major pop star.
The soccer stud was spotted in Madrid, Spain yesterday, living it up in his former team’s city. Becks grabbed some dinner at Asador Donostiarra (reportedly a fave of his) and hammed it up with some fans.
As always, David looked just plain hot, wearing a black cardigan over a white shirt with tie, rounded out with a pair of distressed jeans.
Victoria’s Spice Girls reunion tour made a stop in the Spanish city this past weekend, playing to a sold-out crowd (what’s new?). For both Posh and Becks it was a refreshing reminder of times past.
