GROOMED as some sort of British Justin Timberlake, The X Factor bosses still hadn't quite perfected the formula when this Mancunian lad won in 2005. That's My Goal was Christmas No 1 that year, selling a massive 1.3 million copies in total, and while he's not come anywhere near matching that sort of success since, he's stuck at it. Ward's second album Breathless was released in November, and sold a whopping 96,000 copies in its first week. Despite its gold disc status, it was kept off the top of the album charts by a certain Leona Lewis, Shayne's successor as The X Factor champion.
